It's not just Netflix. I've noticed it in a lot of other television shows. It seems to be pandering at this point.
A problem I've noticed with Netflix is a disportionate amount of shows featuring blacks and Jews -- you don't want to be so woke that white folks become marginalized.
This isn't necessarily in response to you AXG, but just in general us "noticing" this stuff could be construed as hate-speech. Don't think that's how OP intended it, but perception is often reality when it comes to this stuff, so reported it thinking shutting it down might be a better look for the forum. Unless, OP wants to edit to reflect a more celebratory tone? As in we notice and celebrate the LGBT community being included in our home entertainment. I don't think that would be as... problematic.
Wtf? I made it pretty clear in my op. I don’t have a problem with the nature of it, I even said that...I’m pro gay marriage btw. It’s just turned into a check box imo, thats the aspect I have an issue with. I cited a specific streaming service and the fact that “central plot lines” are formulaic and conveying a false sense of sincerity through the means of story telling.

I believe only Deckard is a Boomer. I'm just a kid who was immediately brought into every crowd. I don't have an issue with anyone, unless they believe they are above everyone (which are always on the left) Weirdo racists are always out, but I've met folks like them so one and done that I don't think of them. I don't have any close gay friends, but I do have a few; one of which is as staunchly in favor of things as I am. I don't fault or disfavor anyone. But, as a kid who, without my parent's permission, in the 70's was tried to be made "different" yeah, I've a huge issue with kids who may not be as strong as I was back then.
I personally find episodes of Barney to be inane, formulaic, and repetitive. The songs are simple and derivative. But since the show is aimed at toddlers, who the **** cares what I think. If you are watching super hero flicks written for 18-23 year olds and think the plots are gauche and childish, you are probably right - they are written for gauche children, not grown adults. If you eat at McDonald's, don't expect a three star Michelin meal. Maybe you need to look for more adult fare. If a single awkward gay kid sees those shows and takes it to heart, frankly I don't care how formulaic you think it is.
