That may be the most impressive HR Yordan's hit. Not in terms of geometry, but because of situation. Hinch pinch hits him lefty against lefty (I wonder how often that ever happens) to get a big hit, and he just...does it. Effortlessly. Perfect, dead center shot. This kid, man...what the hell?
Astros have a bright future with the studs of Altuve, Man Child, Bregs, Tucker, Correa (if healthy), and Springer (if extended)
Abreu's got some wicked stuff. Of course, it's peppered with some wildness and meatballs; the kid came straight from AA. But, man, once he learns to control it better and gains some experience, ooh, boy.
Another good Greinke showing. Also Yordan gives us exactly what we all want after coming in cold to pinch hit. It's going to be a pleasure watching him outplay Aaron Judge in the playoffs.
To give them a better option for a defensive SS in case they get into a situation like they did tonight. Had Alvarez not hit that HR, Mayfield at SS in a 2-1 game is better than Straw at SS in a 2-1 game. It also frees Straw up to pinch run or play the outfield.
Doesn't matter in September. He has sucked as a ML hitter, but right now he is not preventing anyone from being on the team.
That's Stubbs not JV slapping his hand the rail, but I completely agree about McHugh. I've watched it over and over now. His face just perfectly sums it all up.
during the game they showed Verlander walking and praising Alvarez in the dug out, a snip of the conversation. I would have to blow a 2.0 in a breathalyzer to not recognize Stubbs from JV. =)
