It doesn't sound like a money grab, as he isn't in need of money, and he isn't asking for a lot more. Although I think you'd want to have some flexibility given the opp for future business. Harden probably didn't know the rule, but unlikely he could prevent it anyway. People just add on at events like this. Harden should probably just pay the extra fees and make it up somewhere else with a commercial so long as there were 15 people in attendance.

Yes we had 50 people there a couple of nights but we never had more than 7 guys there at one time. Ok, one chick ended up being questionable but she had elite t*** regardless.

If the contract was as the owner stated, then I'm with the owner on this one. But at the same time, when you rent to a superstar athlete barely out of his twenties, of course $h!t's going to get tore up.

At the same time, if you throw a party and invite 5 people, all it takes are TWO to invite a +1 and all of a sudden you are out 70k? Come on man, how many times do you invite people over for a gathering and more people show up than you invite. Everything brings somebody, their buddy, their girl, some nice single ladies etc. that’s how social gatherings work.
