Something tells me Morey didn't just now figure out these creative incentives for trade purposes and tiptoeing LT, but Ariza just said "f!ck you"
It's honestly a cat-chase-mouse game. Morey will just find something else when they close it. He is a true pioneer on the salary cap management front.
Yep, and I'm sure Morey has found every trick card already, and just holds them in his pocket until it's useful to play them. Which is why I think he already had this incentive maneuver in his bag of tricks, and maybe tried it on Ariza. and, I'm all in favor of the next CBA closing the loophole, now that he's played the card, so no one else can in future years.
so nene can't play more than 9 games until he gets traded (or far more likely waived). if capela gets injured it's going to be a funny AF watching nene rot on the bench due to LTS
Yep, Team Performance *Likely* Incentives counting in salary-matching of trades won’t survive the next CBA. Either they won’t count at all, just like NG salary and Unlikely Incentives, or they won’t count if they’d be deemed Unlikely after the trade. I can hear the league office now saying “dammit, how’d we miss this loophole, and let Morey make fools of us, again. But we’re going to have to allow this contract.”
The league office actually still hasn't approved the contract, so it's not official yet. They are talking about voiding it completely.
