This is unmitigated horseshit in the middle talking about the patriots playing to win and the Astros not. Literally all you are doing is noticing the difference between football (or hoops) and baseball. Baseball is just different. You are going to lose 1/3 of the time even if you are the greatest of the great. It’s baked in.
The Astros have every bit as much of a killer instinct as the Pats or the warriors or any other great champion from a different sport you want to name. To suggest otherwise is demeaning the Astros because you don’t understand what baseball is at its core.

Don’t confuse confidence with a lack of killer instinct.

While it is true that Hinch does not manage every game like his life depends on winning, there’s e is a reason for it. Hinch has confidence when it is all said and done, this team will win their division and likely have homefield advantage. If they don’t have homefield advantage, he believes they can win regardless.

So no, the Astros typically do not seem stressed out or make short sighted decisions because they are confident.

Hinch manages to win the World Series. He does not put any one game above what is needed to try to keep team sharp, and healthy and progressing towards that goal.

Permanent orange seat where Yordan's second home run hit last night. Pretty awesome. Even better than having a few bronze plaques on Eutaw Street in Baltimore, although I'm sure he'll have quite a few of those before his career is over.

So, 36-1 in two games is another first in major league history. This team, man...

The way this one is going, having a bullpen start next game looks gloomy.

Time to sit Miley for a couple of weeks... he can’t miss a single bat. It’s literally batting practice. The fact that this is by far the most innings he’s pitched in a season in a long while is a real concern.

Miley on his way to his 3rd really bad outing in a row. I am glad we don't have to depend on him in the playoffs. He looks like a whipped puppy out there.

I guess the Astros want to challenge themselves.

I mean, this isn’t great obviously, but the first three hits were all soft ground balls. He could have just as easily been out of that inning with no damage.
