You just made me wonder how many younger fans have never listened to a whole Astros (or baseball) game on the radio.
Division # is 8. No pic. Wow, that number is begging to be given to somebody good. Mark Loretta is the best Astro to wear it (maybe Joe Morgan in '80), and he did it for 2+ seasons in 2 different stints with the team. Still tied with NYY, 2 games up on LAD
Don't know what you are talking about. Love listening to Robert and Steve streaming on the MLB app. But seriously, I haven't listened to a game on the radio outside of the car.
Awesome memories listening to the 'Stros on the radio in the late '60s/early '70s. Getting my Topps baseball cards out of the players and laying them on the bed and keeping score. Listening to Gene Elston and Loel Passé ("now you chuckin' in there" & "hot ziggity dog and sassafras tea").
I was too young to remember Loel Passe, but I have fond memories of listening to Elston and Dewayne Staats on my AM/FM clock radio in my room. When Dierker came he annoyed me to no end at first, but it was probably just a kid not liking change.
My dad used to have the games on the radio in 3 different rooms so you could hear it anywhere in the house. Then came HSE when you could actually WATCH home games on TV! Always preferred Elston's style over Milo's. Now, I don't think I could listen on the radio even if i wanted to, since 790's signal doesn't even reach Kingwood after 6pm............... I found this out 2 years ago when my power went out during Game 7 against the yankees and I went out to my car to try and listen.
I have, but why would I now? I dont buy cars with hand crank windows. I also dont take my wash to the creek to wash it in the rocks, nor do I use a sling blade to cut my lawn. Reddit and I never have to pay to watch a game.
I listen to the radio broadcast on Sirius logged into my computer. I enjoy being able to listen while I work on other things. But thats just a personal preference.
