Okay, good. I thought it was just me. I don't know, maybe small town fast food places are better because the people working there actually give a rip about their jobs? Can't put my finger on it. My family almost never eats fast food, aside from an occasional trip to Culvers or Chick Fil A. Too many other sit down options to choose from when we go out. But if we're driving around Texas and don't have an hour to spend at a restaurant, we do fast food and the places are ALWAYS better than places in the city. Especially Whataburger and DQ. We can't drive through Brenham without stopping at that DQ.
The Whataburger app is not working. I have a particular set of customization I like to make to my burger that is annoying to say in the drvie-thru, but is a breeze to see up in my favorites on the app. I hope they fix this soon. I'm not even mentioning rewards are already put into my account after ordering using the app which means I don't have to ask these guys to scan my phone at the window.. Whataburger app has spoiled me.
My only Whataburger experience was in Vegas somewhere between the club at Mandalay Bay and MGM. I'm not even sure how I got there after alcohol, t*tties, and clubbing. But it was pretty good under those conditions.
Whataburgers are all over Phoenix. Might be the only non Texas market in which Whataburger competes with In N Out. Phoenix also has Rudy’s BBQ and Dairy Queen (no steak fingers and gravy on the menu).
Not sure if it's still the case but Dairy Queen was essentially a different company in each state. Up north, they don't sell hot food...just desserts.
Probably as long as they are "Family Owned and Operated", since the individual restaurants still are and will be. Truth. Sonic is the same.
FYI for the masses, sorry I didn't know this was a thing until about 5 mins ago: Anyone had the Breakfast Burger? https://austin.eater.com/2019/10/2/20895038/whataburger-breakfast-burger-baod-up-opens-sunset-valley
I had it. Worth the try, but I'll stick with a bacon, egg, sausage, potato, jalapeno & cheese Taquito.
This is not always the case. It's about 50/50 at least iny neck of the woods. I'm still disappointed my hometown DQ doesn't sell anything other than got dogs and ice cream. Supposedly they may be working on the rest of the food.
