Maybe I've just been spoiled too much by this team with absolute monster home runs.

Toro hitting the game winning homer on Giles who was smug as hell yesterday just makes this all the more better.

It wasn't a save situation so it doesn't count against Giles.

Need to check the game scores of the other no-no's. JV today was 100.

What is a "game score", you ask? from mlb.com glossary:

Game Score measures a pitcher's performance in any given game started. Introduced by Bill James in the 1980s and updated by fellow sabermetrician Tom Tango in 2014, Game Score is presented as a figure between 0-100 -- except for extreme outliers -- and usually falls between 40-70.

ETA: wiki already updated...here ya go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_score

ETA2: guess what's the highest GS is in a 9-inning game? Kerry ****ing Wood

Cole gets credit for more Ks, in that formula, despite giving up 1 hit. Would love to see the decimals that they rounded off to truly know.

eta: JV should get extra credit for it being a 0-0 game until the 9th

So is Cole JV's biggest threat to his second Triple Crown?

@Buck Turgidson for grins I used the formula from your link and looked up the box score from Sept 25, 1986.
Game score was 98, Game score 2.0 was 103.

I am incredibly proud of everyone on this board, and Todd Kalas. Nobody really said a thing. Maybe it's because everyone was too pissed off at the batters to notice what JV was doing?

    We all get .009% credit

I was more than surprised that Ford and Sparky were so openly talking about it and actually saying no hitter several times.

Look, it is what it is, but for me, I never want to hear it. Maybe I’m a purist in that regard or superstitious, but shh!!!

Nice! I didn't pay any attention to the math before (it's Sunday dammit), but I think I disagree with the 2.0 version counting a walk as the same as a hit. They are not the same to me.

eta: and you can disregard my earlier ponderings about rounding decimals apparently.
