We can complain about the soft lineup and not putting in Springer after the Yuli scratch but Yuli's replacement Diaz has the only hit in the game...
He's chomping at the bit. Going to bat in his next start, has been taking BP. Today's 5-9 is on par (i.e. - bad) with any of the lineups they've thrown out there pre 2015, when this team became good again.
On another note, this is where "openers" and bullpen games theoretically work. You don't ever leave somebody in to face a guy twice. The hitters never really have a chance to make adjustments. The only way to make that plan blow-up is to create traffic within innings, make these relief guys overwork themselves and eventually they'll start making mistakes... lets see if this inning turns into anything.
Okay this lineup blows. Get Springer in there for pitchwatcher Brantley, overrated Toro, or garbage Reddick.
I know they didn't expect Yuli to be out... but would have been a window for Tucker to start this game with a callup and the expanded rosters. Guess a flight to Milwaukee is cheaper than a flight to Toronto?
Taking Brantley out would be dumb. He's literally one of the best hitters in the game. Springer would replace Jake or Reddick.
It sure seems that way this series...just looked at the park factors for this year after Toro's AB, Rogers Center is the top park in MLB for HRs. I don't get it.
