I am afraid this is the slump we all knew would come eventually. Historic starts aside he is not the next babe Ruth.

He has a 1.000 OPS in the last week. And the last 2 weeks. And the last month.

I say take advantage of Alvarez’s mini slump and offer him a 10 yr extension.

These games are annoying but ultimately not all that important. What matters is how we treat middle relief in the playoffs.

I didn't like today's game; thought it was wimpy. I don't like wimpy.

By my quick count, we are 63-25 when Verlander,Cole, Miley and Greinke start.

We are 25-24 when somebody else starts (which is honestly remarkable given how god awful somebody else has usually been)

Somebody else isn't making any starts in October.

Our starters are not my concern, the bullpen is. Beyond Pressly (if he gets healthy) and Harris, not really sure who isn't somebody else.

Treating the bullpen can get tricky. Frank LaCorte used to bring boxes of kittens in there to calm everyone down. This was before the internet. After two got stepped on that was the end of that. This bullpen might be untreatable. But we could start with something like sushinomics which has been the model used in Japan for middle relief.

I would have preferred Springer be put back in the lineup if Yuli's down.

    Just an off day

Yuli was a late scratch, may have been too late to give George time for his pregame routine. Or Hinch may have never even considered it.

With how much of a better record this team has at home, with how close the standings are for the best record in the league for home field throughout the playoffs, why is Hinch resting Yuli AND Springer and putting our C line up out there especially with Correa on the DL?

No idea where you could find the answer to that question.

3 pitches in the exact same spot: 2 balls, then a strike. JV did stare at him a little bit after the first 2, then almost dared him to call it a ball again.
