I just imagine Bill at 3pm doing a giant line of cocaine and walking in to the room saying “ok boys, I can’t wait for Brian to hear about this”
No! He should’ve traded Clowney months ago. If not, keep him and make him play out the season. We got nothing back for a number one overall pick while other teams got back at least a first and second for their pass rushers.
Holy crap, I'm glad we got Tunsil, but giving away 2 1st rounders and a 2nd Rd 2021 pick? This is just ****ing insane.
I don't know about slightly above average, he's also only 25, so we are talking about what should be a franchise LT. YOu'd spend a first overall pick on a franchise LT. I'm not absolving BOB here, the truth is we could have gotten a haul of picks for Clowney in the offseason...or at least something soften this blow...
Imagine had they paid Duane Brown or recently paid the price of a 3rd/5th or 4th/6th to move up one or two spots for Dillard Two firsts + 2nd + Bademosi + Davenport for Tunsil + Stills + 4th Wow. FernTits sells the farm for superstar Westbrook Asschin sells the farm for Tunsil
Fuller insurance. LT tackles don't grow on trees. You have 80 million in cap. You can make up for 1st round picks.
I'm confused. Is your point that blame for the Clowney deal can be diffused from O'Brien et al, who can be fired (in theory), to ownership as well, who obviously can't be fired? And this point is supposed to make us feel better about the situation?
As to Tunsil for 2 1sts and a 2nd, holy $hit, I was mostly kidding when I came up with that offer in the main Clowney thread. (Stills was going to be cut anyway, from what I'd read, and isn't worth a 2nd anyway.) I hope the Redskins FO is busy kicking their own ass for not taking this deal.
