I guess Harris will be the 8th inning guy? Are people going to stop freaking out when he comes into a game? He only has around the 4th or 5th best ERA for qualified relief pitchers this year.

Damn. That would have been nice to find in the earlier analysis. Would have been able to come back sooner. You have to worry about how effective he will be in the playoffs after that layoff.

Luckily Josh James should be done with a rehab assignment within the next week and if all goes well, should be able to slot into mid-late relief.

If this is all stemming from that game where the ball hit him in the knee, its really just annoyingly frustrating luck. I also believe it wasn't a save situation... it was just one of those games he needed work (IIRC).

Yeah, it would really help things if James comes back strong. I wonder if they are more aggressive now with their September call ups to see if they can find another reliever to step in if Pressly is not ready to go for the playoffs.

I'm sure we allowed adequate healing after his initial IL stint.

These are young men, they're going to be a disaster in their 40's.

    Well this sucks.

Hopefully he can be back in time to knock the rust off in a few games and be ready for the playoffs.

Peacock already back. Biagini is slightly above average. Osuna and Harris still there. James going on a rehab assignment is very encouraging for what was thought to be a bad shoulder or elbow injury initially. Devo/Colin/Rondon are wild cards that if they show consistency, may get a nod here/there.

And while all surgery can have possible set-backs and complications, having a knee scope (presuming there's no major ligament or cartilage issues) just to clean out presumed tissue/scar should not really be something that keeps Pressly out too long.

To try to add a little levity to a crappy situation, here's a scary Halloween costume for those in NL cities. Frightening. ECln2BkXYAAA8t9.png

With millions of dollars in their banking accounts, I think they will survived. Now, college and high school athletes, I feel bad for them.

6 weeks pretty much puts it at the start of the playoffs. hopefully he is able to come back a week or so earlier and get some game work in

People around here would freak out with prime Mariano Rivera coming into a game.

Injury bug is biting but if there's any silver lining... it's the fact that we are arguably the deepest team in baseball.

Get through this, give other guys a shot who could make a difference in the postseason. I'd rather be fully healthy for the ALDS.
