I root for underwater video games like subnautica and Bioshock. Love them. I root for underwater films too, but I don't think this one is going to be good. Most of them fail due to limitations. Shiot, all of them have failed. Maybe Nemo and if you count Red October and U571. Here, think the first mistake is casting the comedy relief. They probably didn't need it. I would much prefer a scientific mystery with some horror. This looks like straight horror. I hope it's good though. Trailer starts out kinda fun and interesting, but the collage of horror didn't take me anywhere. Start with BioShock Hollywood. Seriously. That's where you begin. All the ingredients are there. I can almost guarantee it would be the best underwater movie ever made despite past video game failures.
So it’s Alien under water. At least Ms Stewart looks hot, buzz cut and all. I hope she takes off more than they’ve shown in the trailer. One of the best scenes in Alien was the closeup of Ridley in her undies getting that spacesuit on. Talk about hot! We have to wait until January to see it? I’m bored as hell. Why isn’t it coming out Friday?
Just watched this. Not gonna say it’s great but I thought it was fun. If you liked Alien, Event Horizon, etc. then I think this movie should be a fun time for you.
In short - Lovecraftian monsters fight oil riggers at the bottom of Challenger Deep. Decent flight movie. Not great, but ate up the time.
