Dude was 2 years old when you made your account--I guess impulsive posts come with youth. If expressing love for foreign cinema comes across as "close-minded" or "judgmental", then I guess I'm in the same boat as you are.

That said, I think a lot of Chinese Wuxia films are pretty good (though I've not watched as many of them as you probably have), but a lot of the modern-day/romance stuff and "mainstream" online serials are pretty crappy and very, very corny. Give it 20 years though; hopefully there'll be quality original stuff like there is on Netflix now.

Edit: Also all the Chinese animated films I've seen are pretty sh*tty too but they're getting better, for whatever that's worth

So will they change the name of the Beijing Ducks when Lin joined the team?

    To the Sitting Ducks?

He can probably make good money on salary. Don't think he will get a lot from Sponsors. Lin's root is more on Taiwan, not mainland China. Good luck to him in CBA.

I used to love watching Hong Kong Wuxia and martial arts movie as a kid. Probably learned more Chinese that way than school. It's fallen off my radar lately, so I'm open to more late 2000s+ recommendations.

Yeah, some of those movies have bad or ambiguous protagonist endings (pyrrhic victory, death, or heartbreak). Something like Crouching Tiger's ending was more about teaching the viewer a lesson to live now rather than living through the character's ending.

Hollywood doesn't usually take that risk for big budget movies.

This just in: Lin has signed with Beijing!

For all I complained about his game whilst he was with Houston, I think I'm definitely going to watch one of Beijing's games now (probably against whichever team Lance Stephenson is on). The atmosphere should be craaazy.

It'll be an interesting year for the CBA

Actually, Lin's response to that tweet is even sadder.

Lin pretty much endorsing "himself" over "team".

Lin feeds off off his lunatic fans. He himself is a LOF.

Yao Ming was an excellent player and also a gentleman.

Lin, OTOH, is a self entitled whiny passive aggressive scrub.

Yao Ming is actually revered around the world, both as a basketball player and an ambassador to the game.

Lin, OTOH, is a joke to most basketball fans other than the LOFs.

Lin saying he will never stop representing Asians in Basketball. Eh...Yao Ming represented Asians more than a decade ago, gracefully I might add.

Lin the scrub saying he will never stop representing Asians is like Milli Vanilli saying they will never stop representing blacks in music industry. They both suck and the best way for them to represent their own races would be to not represent their races lol.

Yao if not for Injuries was arguably the best center in basketball with Shaq being past his prime. Even in Shaqs prime Yao gave him fits. Remember Yao blocking his ass multiple times in the first matchup head to head? The point is Yao was a superstar here already so there is no comparison

    Yao is actually good
so there's no comparing him to a third string point guard who jumps from team to team every year

How many teams did Yao play for?
