Workers at a massive new Shell plant in Pennsylvania had to attend a speech by President Donald Trump there earlier this week to be paid — and were ordered not to protest, reported the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The capitalist propagandist advantage, people will support those who can pay them today. "Oh there ain't no rest for the wicked Money don't grow on trees I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed There ain't nothing in this world for free Oh no, I can't slow down, I can't hold back Though you know, I wish I could Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked Until we close our eyes for good"
I work in big petrochemical facility in texas and get ordered to do stuff all of the time. If i dont they threaten to not pay me.
Including supporting democratically elected representatives of the citizenry at mandatory rallies? Odd facility.
Not at all. But i have to attend events that i normally wouldnt. And protesting would be frowned upon no doubt.
No question protesting of anyone visiting the company you work for is frowned upon (pretty self evidence), however being ordered to not protest is a different level. And having to attend those events to get paid is another crazy level. You actually received written notice that you would not get paid if you don’t attend? We have events some times and you are requested to attend and sometime are expected to, but being paid wasn’t condition upon that.
Bit disingenuous to accuse the other side of paying for fake crowds when these shmoes are blackmailed slaves to having their face plastered for headcount. Sad. Me no want.
I have a hard time believing this. If it was true, someone would be suing someone. Especially a major corporation like Shell. I could see this from some small Podunk company....but Shell? "No lo creo."
Would you sue? Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report with a few names provided. Let's see if Shell's PR issues a denial before you claim this to be "fake news" for no legitimate reason
