Not political in nature but this is a somewhat controversial topic.

How does the board feel about it? Do you recline? do you not recline? Why/why not?

I recline as soon as we're in the air and I was shocked to hear that people are against it. I expect the person in front of me to do it--few places are more uncomfortable than an airplane.

Of course, if I could befriend some Mexican industrialists, perhaps I wouldn't be stuck on the Economy class killing floor.

I personally don't put my seat back but I also don't care if the seat in front of me goes down. People relax in different ways.

    I'm inclined to recline.

I'm 6'2" I really appreciate it when the person in front of me does not recline. The extra space helps make the trip a little more comfortable. Since I don't like it when others do it to me. I don't do it to others.

Yea, I'm actually firmly against reclining and I"m shocked to learn that you're shocked that there is some controversy surrounding the subject.

Yea, I'm 6'2 as well. I also am a sleep forward person on the plane so when someone reclines on me that option is immediately out. I would never contemplate reclining on someone and imposing on their comfort for my benefit. It's a matter of thinking of others before yourself IMO.

I do it. I'm more a sleep back person than a sleep forward.

It makes a big difference for me because I have bad posture and I slouch.

Fwiw, people recline on me 75% of the time when I flew almost every other week. Some people had a contraption to prevent me from reclining, but it was a 2 hr flight so I didn't complain. I would if it were longer.

I don’t do it. The space is too meager as it is, why make it even worse for the passenger behind me? I hate it when the person in front of me reclines.

I am 6'3 and travelled a lot in my consulting days. I expected the person in front of me to do it and enjoyed when they didnt. I probably reclined about 50% of the time.

If I have to deal with over weight stinky people, screaming children, people bringing on smelly food, I will do whats best for me.

Its not always the uncomfortable seats that makes the journey miserable.

If you aren't supposed to recline, why are the seats made to recline? The flights that I have been on the seat reclines about two or three inches. It doesn't bother me if people want to recline.

I don't recline unless I know there's no one behind me.

I’m 6’5” and my legs are usually smashed up against the seat in front of me unless I get an exit row.

Usually, I would recline if I had space for my legs because I knew the person behind me would have plenty of space as well. If my legs were jammed up against the seat in front of me, I wouldn’t recline because space was limited already and I wouldn’t want to take that away from the person behind me.

In the latter case, I often had the person in front of me recline causing an already bad situation to get worse. I’d usually grin and bear it, but I’d imagine some of my neck and back problems came from those trips.

I hate it when people recline in front of me so I don't do it if I am traveling in economy.

I generally recline but not always. I like to sit by the window. If reclining puts my head in an awkward position with regards to the window, I won't. Otherwise, I will.

I fly frontier... The seats don't recline. When I've had the option, I recline, but I also don't care what the person in front of me does as long as they aren't going back and forth.

I always recline and I am six five. I never complain if the person in front reclines. Although it can hurt when they recline hard right into my knees.

I have had people passively protest on me (you know when they hit their tray a lot to bother you or whatnot) but whatever. Flying is miserable in coach.

I had no idea people *didn't* recline their seats.

after takeoff, when the seatbelt sign goes off: "Hey, I'm putting my seat back." "OK." Massive social conundrum solved in less than 10 syllables.

I'm surprised so many people find reclining offensive. It's fair game. I always recline.

What offends me is people who don't understand armrest etiquette. Window seat gets the window, aisle seat gets more leg room, middle seat gets both armrests. Be civilized, people. We live in a society.
