    False equivalency. Nice try, though.

This is silly. He no more 'promotes' that stuff than the series Claws promotes women money laundering gangs.

Not 100% sure how to interpret this graph.

    Column headings:
Family: Is this where the victim is a family member?
Felony: Does this mean the shooting is considered a felony?
Public: Does this mean the victim was an unrelated member of the general public?

    Row titles:
"Dead": Where the shooter is dead after the event or what?

    Eh...

I don't see them as the same. Those reality shows are meant to be peak through the window at a trainwreck stuff.

Rap music absolutely promotes the lifestyle they rap about.

I might accept glorify as opposed to promote.

But again did Grapes of Wrath promote criminality? Did Tortilla Flat? Call of the Wild? Did the movie Bonnie and Clyde?

I think these are very different scenarios.

Those are works of fiction. Rap music is people talking about their life experiences (allegedly) and showing how they ended up rich and famous basically. The level of impression that rap can make on someone compared to a book is far outsized.

I would guess that black men account for a greater % of mass shootings than the wypipo.

Ideologically motivated mass shootings aka terrorism?

You understand why the difference matters right?

You aren't worried about being a victim of gang violence walking to your local suburban Walmart are you?

No. He thinks gang violence is terrorism. He's just a Fox News shmuck like that.

I've asked him repeatedly to explain the political goal of gang violence and he naturally could not.

    Just another dumbass false equivalency.

I promise you gang violence was and is much more likely to take me out. There arent many poltically motivated shootings down here in HOU TX.

A car accident is much more likely to"take you out". You intentionally miss the point as is your goal.

I think rap has more variety. The songs that are supposedly autobiographical are usually embellished and cautionary tales. Others are fictional, some are 'realistic' fiction.

The point is how they are perceived. A lot of young people see that lifestyle as something to aspire to, a way to get rich and get girls.

Compared to other music genres (country, most rock, EDM, etc), rap is pretty much the only one talking about killing people and pimping hoes. Yes, there are some exceptions to this, but rap is easily the biggest offender regarding pushing negative messages.

Kind of semantic. Glorifying something promotes it. Movies can certainly do that, but most are seen as obvious fiction. Bonnie & Clyde have certainly inspired people, but they are also real people.

It doesn’t matter that they’ve never lived it, the listener or viewer thinks of it as real life commentary

You're right Jay-z DID sell drugs... You're right he did go to jail...

But interesting enough I live in the burbs and I hear more Jay-z coming from Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus and Range Rover driven by NONE African Americans… So apparently he's inspiring a lot more none rapping people than you think.

You can twist things any kind way that you want, but the fact is Don Lemon was correct...

Why are white men carrying out more mass shootings?

If this was the case then more blacks would be Mass murders..

So are we saying young white suburban white kids want to live a hood life?
These mass murders hate blacks, but yet they are listening to black music?

Saying Gangsta Rap is the cause of all this, is like saying Guns kill people. People Kill People...
