You are obviously a great fan, but you are the anti Luhnow It’s not about what players “have done” it’s about figuring out how they will perform in the future Reddick is a below average hitter, whether you realize it or not
You should probably get over yourself. A player slumps for 2 months and you assume he’s done and there’s no hope for him. Look at Yuli’s turnaround. And please leave out in your retort that yuli changed his approach like you can tell.
The **** do I have to do with this? I will add though, that Tucker has pretty much been every bit as bad at AAA for the past month as Reddick has been in MLB
Anyone that is saying that reddick cant rebound is talking out of their ass. Its probably the same people that were calling for yuli’s benching
Actually, he did change his approach. It has been pretty well documented and talked about here.[/QUOTE] Yes that was my point. I was just saying that brobek wouldnt know unless he was told like you, me, and everyone else here. Yes its been well documented.
2 month slumps where a guy has an OPS below .600 and is getting regular playing time are rare. For the third time, what have you seen in Reddick's approach that gives you confidence he will turn it around?
Just a 2 month slump and you’re convinced he’s done. That seems more unreasonable than expecting him to return to form.
His numbers say otherwise. Also, he’s been a streaky hitter most if his career. So slumps aren’t new with him. He is definitely not a below average hitter
I would like them to give Tucker an audition, just in case. Reddick is great defensively, but he’s got to hit at least reasonably well to be a starter in the playoffs. Batting .194 for the last two months and he has never drawn a ton of walks. We’d be better off with Straw.
Why is it so hard to understand that I don't think he is done. I have stated that I don't think he will reach his career OPS over the rest of this season. I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. I hope I am wrong this time. I took up for Reddick earlier this season. I like him and hope he can rebound.
Just don’t know why you think its more probable that a streaky hitter stays cold for the rest of the year. Thats just a guess and anybody can guess. You’re not guessing based on the odds though. The odds say he will heat up at some point. Not sure why you think its different with reddick.
Last year his monthly OPS splits were .790, .647, .721, .739, .628, .771 This year .888, .703, .748, .524 Over the past 10 months, he has reached his career average 3 times and almost a 4th.
How so? He has been below his career average more often than not over the past ten months. I do think he will turn around from .524 in August and September, but that's not saying much.
Spoiler: OT Damn, Dodgers walk it off in the 9th. Sorry, Sunday Night Baseball in a delay; they were showing Dodgers/Padres
