All the players cut by Morey coming out of the woodwork now. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, this all seems bigger than it is because we’re rocket fans. This stuff will be yesterday’s news soon enough.
how could the rockets be 10-13 with melo when he was only there 10 games? oh wait you must mean the team kept playing like **** long after he was gone, yet somehow he was still to blame.
N I N E M O N T H S. How long has it been since someone has paid Carmelo money, any amount of money, to touch a basketball?
The one thing that rings true is the way Melo said Daryl handled him was the same way that Mchale said he got handled as well
Here comes Michael Carter Williams, James Ennis, Marquesse Chriss, Brandon Knight, DeAnthony Melton going off on Twitter against Morey Sarcasm
It was well known before his gig here that Houston was his last big chance, it doesn’t look. People lookin elsewhere to say he sucks, OKC and Houston were his last chances, dun look surprised. I am actually perplexed that the new NBA does not give second chances, back in the day dudes were bouncing around a lot more.
Royce White still won't accept responsibility for flushing his NBA career. It's a freaking joke that Royce White even commented. It goes for Melo too, the guy was cocky as hell for years but the NBA ( pro sports period) is unforgiving when athletes age. Morey is not the only GM in basketball who could've given Melo a Vet minimum deal. Everyone else declined as well EVEN LEBRON! So reality bites and that's not Morey, that's life.
Players are mad because they can’t understand how the Rockets keep winning with a not so highly touted rosters. Daryl has prioritized team fit, chemistry, heart, and commitment to team philosophy. Of course ego driven athletes look at the Rockets roster and say, I can beat that fool in a one on one match 10 out of 10 times, I deserve his spot. And that is why they fail, they don’t maximize their outcome for NBA victory... players have to yearn to set that perfect screen so that it opens up a shot for another player, they have to box someone out to allow a teammate to get the rebound, they have to play team defense with pride and get a few bruises without complain. But these former stars implode into black holes, they don’t fade gradually and gracefully... it’s in their makeup!
Carmelo says how Houston courted him for years, and then after conceding to Daryl’s approaches, he was flattered enough to accept The Rockets as a fit for his talent. Never mind nobody else wanted him! Carmelo didn’t know that he was here because CP3 probably vouched for him. Say what you say, guys Harden vouches for, come in hungry, might no pan out but they play hard! So Rockets brought him in to kick the tires, maybe he takes a cue from CP3, and if he embraces the team player philosophy, they’d keep him on board. The team didn’t need offensive players, there was plenty of scoring already. What is the one thing Melo talks about in The interview, “I scored 20+ points in so many games”. There was a time Morey offered Carmelo the keys to the Lamborghini, and that was many many years ago. This Rockets ship is being driven by Harden, and he’s navigating it well (only complaint is he could no beat a dynasty team in GS)... it’s not a team available for the likes of a Dwight Howard, CP3, Carmelo’s to highjack.
Imagine if Harden did not have that 36 ppg output of 40-50 games, instead he would have averaged just about 28 ppg. I bet the team's record would be worse and Morey would definitely have more pressure to deal with. Winning definitely put a veil over things, but you could feel that there were things (negative as well) happening behind closed doors.
