Is there anything that matches the Hornets in the 90s when they set records for attendance and were loud AF every single night. I know the Warriors have been loud in recent history, but it's easy when a team is winning, going on deep play-off runs and being champions. Also plenty of people, even Warriors fans and people from Frisco admit that there's way more Lakers fans out there and it's fair weather fans at least partly. You cannot say that about those crazy Charlotte fans, who had to wait 5 years before their first play-off appearance and just continued to sell out. In their first 10 years, they had 8 with the most attendance in the league and twice finished 2nd! Of course context matters and it was the buzz of a new team, but it just never let up. The Thunder in a way have been like that, I'd say it's at the top of loudest at least, but not sure about attendance and buzz around the city of Oklahoma. Any other fanbase who can make this claim in NBA history? I'd really love to know and it's not about which team is #1, just legitimate curiosity .
Kurt Rambis mentions at the end that not even during LA's prime time years they would sell out like that. Crazy!
best crowds IMO 2002 Kings 2014 Raptors when they made their 1st playoff appearance in years 2007 “We Believe” Warriors 2010 Thunder when they made their 1st playoff appearance against the Lakers this gives me chills that OKC crowd was probably the best I’ve seen
The Kings fans have always been great for some reasons. This is especially amazing given how bad their history has been. I even knew someone who was a Kansas City fan and is still rooting for the Kings even after they moved to California.
Those Kings crowds were loud as hell. Those teams are what I think of when I think of loud and crazy fans night after night. OKC fans could get pretty wild during their prime runs at a championship. If you're just looking at consecutive sellouts, 300+ isn't unique. I think the Mavs had something like a 700+ game streak going last year (?). Not sure that ended or not. The Trailblazers had another one that was 800+ games a couple of decades ago.
warriors crowd was much louder 13 years ago when they made 1 playoff on 18 years. Warriors had the loudest fan when they were horrible. Now they just have a TC crowd in recent years since the real fans can't afford new ticket price
Thanks for this, yeah the Kings I can see given their history and remember some playoff games from 2002 being loud like you wouldn’t believe. Definitely a loyal fan base. Warriors are not loyal, not buying it. They’re loud sure. We will see if OKC fans will still come out in droves and be as loud. Blazers I have heard mentioned as some of the loudest. Well the consecutive sell outs paired with 10 years of being #1 and #2 in attendance is damn impressive .
I attended the Trail Blazers playoff games against the Jazz in Utah in the 1990s (91/96/99) and those games were crazy loud. I couldn't believe how loud it got in the Delta Center.
