Should Morey give Eric Gordon 4 years $76M contract extension?

    This leads me to my thought on how to win championship this year.

    1. Eric Gordon is the perfect complement to Harden and Westbrook. He can easily knock down 3 pointers when teams are doubling Harden. It would be likely cost Tilman $10 million luxury tax in 2020-21 season if giving him 4 years 76M contract extension. I believe that it would be a mistake to trade Gordon.

    2. As an off-ball screener, Harden can open up lanes for Westbrook and Capela, but Westbrook and Capela together don't work against Clippers/GS/Lakers due to bad chemistry and firepower. These types of chemistry leads to a second-round exit in the playoffs. I believe that Morey has to trade Capela/picks for 2 stretch Bigs.

    3. Lakers and Clippers are reportedly keeping a roster spot open for buy out Andre Iguodala.
    For those of you who don't want to trade Shumpert/pick for Iguodala, You would have to think how to defeat Lakers with Iguodala or Clippers with Iguodala come playoffs time.

    4. Let’s not kid ourselves that the Rockets were more talented than the Warriors after KD went down. Morey has to find a better defensive coach for MDA this year. According to media, Morey is interested in bringing in Tyronn Lue as an assistant coach.

    5. GS are going to be 5-8 seed, There is a chance to play them in the first round playoffs because all other teams don't want to play them early. They have 7 young player contracts. All are age under 23 with 3 year contracts or more. Every long-term piece is a value, which they have better trade value.

    You extend Eric Gordon and you keep EG, Harden and Westbrook playing together for the next 3 years.

    Eric Gordon is our best shooter not named James Harden. Surrounding Russ with shooters is going to be key to maximizing the effectiveness of our team.

    Continuity is underrated, hard worker and great locker room guy. You lock him up and go compete for the next 3 years with the best backcourt in the league.

    4. Elston Turner was hired as the Rockets' lead assistant a month ago and will be in charge of the defense.

    As for 2018-2019, the Rockets defense improved significantly after the rough start--even before Bzdelik returned. The main reason it fell off from 2017-2018 had everything to do with the roster, not the coaching staff.

    No way he would have “is the perfect” after Eric Gordon. It should be Eric Gordon complement westbrook harden. 3 pointer shooter

    I'm not saying he wasn't a huge positive or that he should have been let go at the end of the year but, statistically, as I recall the Rockets turned the corner before he was even brought back. The main culprit for the bad start was Carmelo, no Ariza, new players (some of whom couldn't play) and players who weren't on the same page.
