Something about a movie with the Manson murders as a backdrop seems creepy to me. Not sure if I want to see or not...
Just bought advanced tickets. It's received good reviews thus far (Tarantino fan so I wouldn't care anyway, but it's a good sign) excited to watch it.
Checking it out on Saturday morning, can't wait. I've been looking forward to this all summer more so than everything else released......
I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews talking about two hours and forty minutes of boredom followed by a good 20 minute conclusion that is described as bizarre. Some people seem to absolutely hate it and call it Tarantino’s worst. lol
The first bit is somewhat boring, but is really just setting the scene (and it's done really well). I kept waiting for things to happen or snappy dialogue. The last 3rd is great. Things I remember that I thought were awesome: Margot Robbie is so good in this movie Damien Lewis *IS* Steve McQueen, but just for a minute The 8 year old method actor, don't call her an actress Bruce Lee vs Brad Pitt
Loved it - unique, different, funny - kinda crazy something like this even exists in movies today. Still collecting all my thoughts, don’t wanna day too much - just go and hangout with this movie.
This movie is gonna divide some people cause it's long, 3 hours and very slow at parts especially the middle. The pay off at the end was worth it in my opinion. Brad Pitt showing that scrub Leo on how to be a movie star. This is really a Brad Pitt movie. It's not really an ensemble cast as you'd expect from the trailer. I'll probably watch this again on streaming. 3 hours in a movie theater is brutal. for any movie.
It's a bit meandering for the first 2 hours but Pitt and Leo characters really do carry it. Like watching two good buddies hanging out. There's some great performances from other ppl during that time too. But those last 40 mins are the closest thing QT's come to his 90's era. Like I would say it's Jackie Brown meets Feelinis's 8 1/2 with a Pulp Fiction esque last act. And Pitt is the real star of the film. Fantastic performance. Leo's really good too. Not the super serious Leo but kind of sad and funny.
This movie is not for the masses. Did I enjoy it? I thought they did a pretty good job of riding the line of building tension and boredom. There were a lot of scenes that we could have done without but then it might have messed up the mis-direction. OR maybe it wasn't mis-direction. I just enjoyed it because I was watching a movie where I didn't know what was going to happen for a majority of the time. And the part I did know was gonna happened....happened and it happened!! I agree with the comments about it being a Brad Pitt movie.
I really liked it......... but I am weird, and used to burn down houses as a teenager so I am not sure I would be the right person to judge.... it had the right vibe and feel to it.
Did nobody else crack the **** up when Pitt tossed and dented the hell out of that car with Kato? Kurt Russel explains?
