Would trade Bergman Correa and Alvarez to get CFM back. Wonder if TAM would take that

Maybe. But we haven’t rubbed our Astros’ magic tallywacker on him yet.

We take average, and make it saverage.

Would be cool to get Thor. With Cole leaving the starting rotation definitely needs addressed.

    2020:

    Verlander
    Thor
    McCullers
    Miley (Maybe?)
    TBD

I give up Tucker for Syndergaard. He's been my target since the season started

Corner outfielders are a dime a dozen. We need starting pitching.

Thor’s stuff is sick af. It’s about putting it all together consistently. Strom with Thor makes me excited just thinking about it. This screams Gerrit Cole 2.0 to me. If we could make this happen without giving up tucker or Whitley then my God, luhnow is a savage

I would trade Tucker for 2+ years of Syndergaard. Worth the risk and trade. If we can keep Fisher, we can have fallback corner OF option.

Go after the World Series this year and have still have a #2/#3 starter for next two years after that.

Giants are delusional. They have like a -40 run differential. Reminds me of Drayton trying to “contend” in the late 00s. Utterly delusional and they will stay mediocre for a long time if they don’t tear it down.

About the Rays, would not be surprised to see them turn into sellers if the weekend goes poorly.

Any chance we can keep Cole?

There's obviously a chance, but the Astros would have to be willing to go beyond 5 years, and close to/above $30M/year salary.

Sentiment around here seems to be it's not going to happen. I guess anything is possible, as Kevin Garnett said.

I don’t want them to give up Tucker for 2.5 seasons of Thor, but if they do I would understand. That said, it needs to be Tucker and not much else.

I’m still hopeful they can get a good pitcher without giving up Tucker or Whitley.

I’m all about Stroman right now. The dude has some serious swagger (kinda like LMJ), isn’t the typical Astros type of pitcher, but he’s absolutely throwing lights out right now. Have to imagine he’s the kinda guy who thrives during a postseason run and you’d have him for next year as well.

In 30.2 postseason IP, Stroman has given up 29 hits, 21:7 k:bb, 4.4 ERA and is 1-1 in 5 starts.

If its being leaked to the media, its a negotiation tactic.

If the Blue Jays want to keep him, there is no incentive to let the media know this.

I really hope fans eventually pick up on all this media BS.... the fans (and other media sources) are the main targets... smart GM's aren't getting their news from twitter or leaks.

They haven't been in a playoff position this season because of Snell. He's been relatively better of late...but he's been generally bad most of the season.

Was also 3 years ago. That's not enough of a sample size to be concerned with.
