John Turner! Man, he was awful and the only reason I recall him was he was the defacto starter on Tecmo NBA basketball. Fun fact: During the 95 season, I played all the winning playoff teams to make it match with the actual playoff standings, game for game. The Magic were the toughest (this game didn't have Shaq or Penny)

Yes, he was the GM at the time. He's also the guy that tried to run Hakeem out of town. Luckily for us we had good scouts and Charlie Thomas was smart enough to work things out.

So you love the guy that tried to run Hakeem out of town? You might want to rethink your "Pure" schtick.

Patterson was a total ass and only got the job because of his dad. His sister Peg also worked for the Rockets back then too.

I still think Hakeem went to Thomas and said "him or me". The obvious choice was to keep Hakeem. Patterson was definitely great at drafting though.

Steve Patterson drafted Robert Horry in 1992, Sam Cassell

Acquired Vernon Maxwell, Mario Elie, traded for Otis Thorpe, Carl Herrera

Steve Patterson is the best GM in Rockets History.

No Daryl Morey hasn't done anything yet for winning a Championship, his poor Drafting is an eyesore, throwing away Draft Picks.

Les purchased a winning team. He didn’t have much do with us winning at all in year one. Say what you will about year 2, but year one was almost purely an acquisition.

The Rockets dishonor Steve Patterson by trading his son Patrick for that scrub Thomas Robinson.

He made great trades and draft picks
That led to clutch city .

Dream wasn’t the nicest dude in the pre H days.

Les fired him and took credit for his work.

When Steve worked for 'Houston NFL' aka Bob McNair, he was in the same building as me in downtown Houston back in the day.

I was with some coworkers and I saw Steve and told gave him a shout out and he acknowledged me.

Steve P was always working for the city. Thank him for the Texans too.

@tinman it is disrespect to hakeem for you to dismiss les like the way you do.

As a player, I promise you this is the type of stuff we remember. Olajuwon loves Les.
