If ownership was sold on MDA, they would have extended him. The cost of the extension MDA wanted is pennies in the grand scheme of things. Nothing against Jonathan Feigen, he is doing his job. What is insulting is the bullshit Rockets ownership is peddling. Are we good enough to win a title? I would be more confident adding a player like Iguodala or Covington.
Once again, this. @The Cat mentioned this many times as *the floor* of options the Rockets could have done.
But if Iggy does get bought out and chooses us, we’ll look like geniuses... Not sold on Iggy and Westbrook on the floor together so I’m not mad at that. I wanted RoCo or Love.
I am ready to hear from Tilman & his nutlickers. I am ready to hear from Daryl & Thaddeus as well. And to complete it, Bob O'Brien. Spoiler
I wouldn't have wanted to spend that kind of money on Iggy either (Covington is a different story). I would also not re-sign Shumpert at this stage. To me, the logic of giving him an overpriced contract to trade him later doesn't work - would only cost another first-rounder, and he doesn't help on the court.
Presti doesn’t want salary dumps outside of CP3’s contract, he wants assets. His price for Gallo, PatPat, Adams, etc was too high for Morey to bite. But I guess we can roll with the silly notion that OKC wanted to give us free players and Tillman blocked it because he is cheap. That story is more spicy for Clutchfans (but likely untrue).
People want something of value because we gave a 1st round pick. We are not getting anything in return is what I say
Lame duck would imply he has no authority among his players, and from what I've seen, that is completely false. Harden respects D'Antoni, and all the players follow Harden. The title of your thread is about Feigen writing fluff, so you're not interested in it now? Despite your desire to add more players, you agree we are good enough to win a title.
Announce D'Antoni extension and Erman signing then I could care less how much he kisses the FO's butt. Just nothing totally devoid of calories please.
1) DAntoni isn't signing an extension 2) They aren't hiring any more significant coaches. They may hire some filler coaches, but apparently they are happy replacing two major parts of their staff with one guy.
Daryl could have left for one of the NBA's best GM jobs less than a year ago. I don't disagree with you entirely, but Daryl isn't pandering to keep his job. He'd have an unbelievable amount of interest, if he were a "free agent."
