Did you actually say we should have built around a 33year old who can't stay healthy?

The same guy who never got out of the 2nd round when the team was built around him?

    This guy.

So why did Kawhi and George sign with the Clippers when they traded Blake not even a year after maxing him?

Why would Ego and Clint be better offer SGA and Gallinari, never mind the 5 picks?

SGA is young up and coming star on rebuilding team. Gallinari is elite floor spacing big, dire need in OKC.

EGo is too old for a team rebuilding. One year rental. Capela is duplicative since OKC has Adams, both similar age.

You are deluding yourself to think Morey could have trumped Clips deal. Especially because PG specifically requested to be traded to LAC.

Your agenda to hate on Morey and Harden clearly never stops. This world you have created for yourself is obviously very amusing but that does not make it reality.

GREAT example of why Holic and everyone else in here are so hypocritical. Nobody, including NBA players, blames the Rockets for what they did. CP3 was a good player when he was traded here, but he regressed quickly, and we found an opportunity to move on. It's not brain surgery. I don't understand why so many people are having a hard time coming to terms with it.

Yeah, and just like any business involving human beings, people still get betrayed and still feel hurt, even if they had their eyes wide open. That's life. It's not easy to take the human element out of these things. [IMG]

    Great post.

Only in Holics mind we had better assets especially considering how he dislikes Capela.

The sad part is that he really believes what he posts.

CP3 was getting to the line and scorching from mid-range. He had 57 and 56 TS% in the RS and PS. He was efficient despite the 3pt shooting.

You idiots really convinced yourselves this guy was bad when he wasn’t. Rude awaking coming when you have to watch Mr. 46 TS% with awful defense against a ton of tough competition.

CP3 wasn't bad in the playoffs. He was almost as good as EG, in fact.

But that's not what we were paying him $40M to do. He was supposed to be great. To be a difference maker. To be a leader. He did none of those things.

I loved the guy after his 1st year with us, but the lack of effort last year was stunning. Lazy turnovers, etc.

Unlike some here, I don't think it was physical decline as much as he was disheartened to learn that he wasn't as important here as the superstar and MVP who's been with us for years. Alpha Chris wasn't happy riding shotgun while James was driving the car. I wouldn't be surprised if CP3 has a bounce back year somewhere. But trading him away was still the right thing to do.

Saw this quote in an ESPN.com article about the trade:

An executive summed it up simply: "I kind of like the trade for Houston too. The two existing guys were going to kill each other, and this one is a lot more durable."

Presti also got two Miami picks from the Clippers, and one is unprotected. The Clippers just had better assets.

    Thank you for posting this.

This account looks EXTREMELY BELIEVABLE to me.

    This is a key item:

When Chris returned from that injury, he realized that the game system was different and did not have the participation he needed. A very reliable source tells me that nothing can be changed because Mike D'Antoni was very comfortable leaving everything in Harden's hands.

The team needed to rebalance/re-calibrate the offense and never did. This is 100% on MDA. Harden will follow MDA's lead and coaching.

Management should have come to Harden & Paul with regards to Melo. That was a mistake.

I believe the team could have made it work with Harden/Paul, but it needed improved supporting cast and recalibration of the offense to *maximize* mot just Harden (ISO) but also Paul. That disconnect caused the breakup.

It was absolutely physical decline, you dont go from amazing to not being able to get past your man based on effort.
