Bummer. I haven't read it in a long time but I was a big fan as a kid. I wouldn't say this is entirely surprising. Print just isn't in for the long haul and what is MAD if you can't fold the back cover?

Damn, I didn't even know they were still a publication. I haven't read one of these in twenty years

I disagree I find shows like Mad tv and SNL completely the opposite. Not funny in the slightest.

For us old people, it's terribly sad.

But, it's the way of things.

I remember a teddy bear eating thanksgiving dinner, and telling everybody he was stuffed.

Staple of my childhood. That folding back cover....I had forgotten all about that....LOL....

One issue I got had a paper record you could play on a record player. It was this 70's style song that would play for 7 bars, then everything would stop and there would be this huge burp. I used to listen to it OVER AND OVER and laugh so hard I couldn't breathe when I was a kid.

Probably the reason I'm in my 40's and still think burps and farts are hilarious....

Let us not forget MAD's "Son Of God" comics parady. That was classic. They will be greatly missed!

I quit reading it when we moved to Austin in the 1980's. I was reading a local comic I'd been reading since the 1960's. See below for a sample:
