This kid is the kind of a player we need, we should trade something to get him. Strong built, made 39.2% from behind the arc this year as a freshman for Michigan. I just look at his highlights and see flashback of HOF Sarunas Marciulionis. Part of me is bias, since he is half-Lithuanian, but I honestly think he is the type of a player championship team has to have of the bench. Most likely undrafted and goes back to NCAA though.
He wants to go pro badly. He has NBA size and strength for a 2-4 on offense. He doesn't pass much but is a good 3 point shooter and isn't afraid to take volume 3's. The negative for him is on the defensive end. I don't think he can adequately cover 2-3's.... so he will have to cover a lot of 4's. I would be shocked if he isn't drafted unless he is terrible at the workouts. A guy with his youth, success in college, basketball IQ, size and shooting touch is quite valuable. Because he is likely a bench player, he may not make it into the first round regardless of how well he tests. My guess is that he goes late 1st or early 2nd.
Sorry, but in what way does he remind you of Marciulionis, other than being a lefty? Marciulionis was basically Ginobili on Soviet steroids.
Good call. He's far more NBA ready than Barrett. Good skills. Makes up for lack of speed by knowing how to use his body. Like what i see.
