This team was not a contender without Chris Paul

Yep, that's true. I would rather keep CP3.

I want to believe Mulder, but that was Cliff Paul we signed to a max deal, not Chris. On the plus side, he helped the team avoid the luxury tax last year with his accounting savvy.

loved CP3 in 17-18, then he signed his deal and proceeded to drop like 2 whole tiers as a player over the course of 1 summer morphing into CP0

the problem is he's like an old Jaguar, and a very very pricey one. he's nice when he's running, but he's always in the garage for something or the other. in the playoffs two seasons ago, and during this past reg season. and harden has to work double overtime every time paul is out of commission.

    CP is greedy.

He wants money more than championship.

    Sorry I dont have respect.

I won't ever blame players for teams giving out stupid contracts. Don't blame CP3 for that, blame Morey & Co. This is not a charity, it's a business and it goes both ways. Having said that, the only hope we have is CP3 plays like he did in 17-18 season minus the injury, but most importantly, Morey honorably accepts his failed system and go back to less ISO and more ball movement. I still remembered how well MDA's 7-second rule worked before he spoiled Harden into ISO game.

And now we're a pretender with one of the worst contracts in the league. Hooray.

Can I put respect on his name but not his contract?

    10 years from now,

no body will remember CP3’s role in the Rockets.

But instead, someone will post this :

Harden is a better player than Mcgrady, at least the stats say so.

Chris Paul 2 years ago brah. Not this Chris Paul. The rockets better do something to improve the team. This offseason is a freaking joke.

Why wait 10 years? I'll post it now. Harden is a better player than Mcgrady. And to add, definitely not a little bit*h

CP3 is a flopping ass overpaid star who didn't show up in the play-offs. Sorry but that's just reality. Just because I'm a Rockets fan, I should be grateful he's on this team? I didn't like the trade at the time and still don't, though I 100% get why we did it. I rather have tried with some dogs like Bev and Harrell, though under MDA the latter would have ridden the bench. Lou was gone anyway, but still. It was never a great fit, will never be and we can only hope he redeems himself. Respect for him as a man, maybe, but as a player right now: god no.

CP3 nearly got us past GSW before he destroyed his hamstring.

That was two years ago. He's old now. I love CP3 and respect him, but if we can get Russell Westbrook for him through whatever elaborate trade scenario Morey can concoct, we need to do it or we can watch Harden demand a trade if we lose again this season.

I'm also not mad about the contract, it's the gamble we needed to make to make this team a contender. Westbrook is a gamble we need to all-in again for one last shot in Harden's prime.

    Good thread and agree

And for the record to many here, you can respect, appreciate, be a fan and dislike the contract at the same time. It's possible!

    Farewell, sweet prince.

You made us contenders if only for the briefest moment in time.

RIP 2017-2018 Rockets. You were amazing. We shall not see their kind again.
