The plan was to get Jimmy Butler, but after that fell through, now Murray is just throwing **** at the wall and hoping it sticks, like last year when he tried make us believe Ennis, Melo, Chriss, and MCW was supposed to be just as good as losing Ariza and Luc.

Rockets still gonna win 50+ games with whoever because harden is that good.

Their plan was to get Jimmy Butler. The plan fell through because It turned out destination was more important to Butler than winning. After that there really was nothing available so plan became resign your role players before they sign elsewhere. Then suddenly, out of the blue and predicted by absolutely no one in the media, Kawhi convinced George to force OKC to trade him to the Clippers after Kahwi’s original plan fell through to attract Durant. Suddenly OKC is in rebuilding mode and franchises around the league formulate new plans. That’s how it happened and that’s how it works.

The plan, I'm assuming, is to not use the non-taxpayer MLE to avoid a hard cap and instead round out the bench with vet minimum contracts as there are some decent vets on the market. And keep looking for a trade. Players will be available, and when that time comes the Rockets want to get in the mix. Also, some players will be bought out, and the Rockets will likely be players on the buyout market.

I know it's not the sexy thing to do, but after they struck out on the big fish, it's the best course of action.

The problem is the "decent vets" are drying up. We've punted on the draft & free agency. Butler is a flake and was always a long shot. He used us as part of his plan to get to Miami. If plan B was doing nothing then so be it. But again, everyone & everything should have a shelf life, Including this version of the Rockets. Especially with the NBA being as wide open as it is.
