Isn’t Jerry West about 800 years old now? Hell, he was still playing when I first got interested in the NBA beyond the Celtics and Wilt Chamberlain on our TV, when Elvin Hayes played the Game of the Century for UH and then went #1 to the San Diego Rockets and won Rookie of the Year. West is 83 and still killing it. Wish I had his genes (sorry, Dad!). The Logo has forgotten more savvy knowledge than the last couple of generations of today’s GM’s can ever hope to obtain, analytics and all.

Doesn’t matter. Daryl Morey and the Rockets have to shut up, buck up, roll up their sleeves, and get it done. We still have a damn good team, and still a contending team with a couple of good additions, maybe one or two subtractions, a deal here and there. It isn’t the End of the World. We aren’t being overrun with the Zombie Apocalypse. Not yet.

    WTF? How did this happen.

Chris Broussard said the Clippers were out of it. He said it was between the Lakers and the Raptors. I think he was fairly confident it would happen.

Damn Kawhi is a lucky guy. Never been on a bad team. Everything kind of worked out great for him.

Drafted onto Spurs Dynasty. Learns from great coaches & teammates. Wins a Chip.
Quits on team, demands trade. Wants to go to LA.

Traded to a very good Eastern team. Wins a Chip for a franchise that never won.

Goes to LA. To another very good team. Good chance to win another Chip for a team that's never won.

Avoids all the hatred that comes from being on a "super team"

I wouldn't say that last part... I was surprised to see around here, quite a bit more hate than I expected, just for taking how much time he did (forgetting that in previous years certain "decisions" have taken much longer).

Looking at KD and leonard now, the thing you have to do is, for your championship to "count", is not only be the best player on your team, but also not have too good a team. This standard has evolved since the message board age... I remember kobe's didn't count so long as he had shaq. LeBron's miami run didn't count, but cleveland did. So durant's didn't count on GS, but now Irving isn't big enough to discredit if he wins there. Leonard's previous rings do count, but if he'd joined the lakers, Bron and AD would've invalidated a ring there. Understand not how I look at this, just observing Internet/media perspectives.

That team is good, but not as good as the Warriors of the last four seasons.

This Clippers roster is not more talented than the 2015-2018 Warriors. It’s very good, for sure, but they aren’t some unbeatable force.

The battle for California will be interesting, several really good teams. Leonard going to the Clippers is great news for the Rockets. The league is now more equal than the GS dynasy years.

The only people who really say this are are whiny message board people, though. And old-time NBA players who never had free agency and can claim to be loyal despite never having the opportunity to be anything else. The rest of the world doesn't care.

Kawhi, Paul George and Beverley on the same team. Lock-down city.

Where ever Jerry West goes, the heist happens.
Rockets need to Hire Mr. West and land the Greek freak. 2021 or summer 2020.

That super team ****ed up his foot and still remained a media darling.

    People forgive winners.

Kawhi is a better recruiter than Harden.

Clearly the favorites and an awful matchup for Houston.

    it is an unfair comparison.

    the logo
    signed Shaq to a FA contract, traded away 25-yr-old starting CVlade Divac for high schooler Kobe, drafted unheralded Klay Thompson w the 11th pick and now just orchestrated this long play;
    traded away
the face of the franchise Blake Griffith for top picks and young baller,
    D Jordan for top picks.
Tobias Harris for top picks and young ballers
to get PG, traded away all the above top picks and 1 young baller and Galanaria

    Morey
kicked a young proven PG, Dragic, out the door, in order to sign a 3-wk flash-in-the-pan JLin to a poisoned-pill FA contract
then bribed the LAL w a 1st rounder and a second rounder to take on JLin's final year's salary
