So I mean this kind of tongue in cheek, but after spending a little time digging, I wonder if I’ve uncovered a potential trade... Earlier today, Morey tweeted this: I tried a variety of ways to figure out where this image is from, but eventually did a reverse image lookup and found out this is from a somewhat obscure movie, “Rob the Mob”. I got on IMDB and went to the profile of the child actor in the scene, and they had the clip that has the above image. In this scene, the most notable quote is “You pay the price for the things you do wrong”. It is said by actor Andy GARCIA to a character named ROBBIE. One of Moreys most notable mistakes is cutting Robert Covington in favor of Francisco Garcia. Is it possible we are about to “pay the price” for that mistake? Anyways, a fun hour plus chasing a rabbit down a hole.
If we got RoCo back without giving up anything too big and signed Morris/Iggy with McGee we’d be in such great shape next year. Paul/Rivers Harden/Gordon/Green Covington/Iggy or Morris/House Tucker Capela/McGee
IND = Gordon (HOU) Hometown hero for a low 1st and McBuckets. MN = McDermott (IND) + Shumpert (S&T) only 1st year guaranteed + D. Davis (HOU) + 2020 IND 1st (top 14 protected) + 2020 HOU 1st (top 5 protected) Shed salary for rebuild plus two 1sts and McBuckets for threes. HOU = RoCo (MN) + Dieng (MN) + Napier (MN) into TPE Ship! I could also envision Cleveland or Toronto getting involved.
I like your dedication, OP! It may not mean anything, but with Daryl, you never know. Covington, as everyone has heard, had surgery on his knee April 1st and according to former Rocket front office dude, Gersson Rosas, is now cleared to play. Interestedly enough, Rosas said the 6’9” small forward would play the majority of his minutes as a 4. RoCo hasn’t played at the 4 very often. Has me scratching my head a little. Maybe the T-Puppies have a bit of a over abundance of 3’s? Maybe RoCo has lost a step? Interesting. If he could play a lot at the 4 for us, that would let us play PJ where he should be playing, at the 3. If RoCo is healthy, the two of them playing the forward spots, together with Capela at the 5, would give us a very potent defensive combo at the 3-4-5 to throw at teams, one that should be really effective with our switching defense. Healthy, RoCo, 28, is good at doing a bunch of things. Shooting from behind the arc (almost 38% when he played last season, 36% for his career), at the line (81% career), and a large majority of his shots were 3’s and at the rim. Sound familiar? "
Whatever it’s about, Morey better make a move as the Clippers, Lakers and arguably Jazz and Nuggets are ahead of them!
To add to the intrigue... Whatever Morey’s handle is on CF, guarantee you he likes the OP’s post. 100%.
