The league isn't exactly falling over itself to sign Faried for a reason. He can't stretch the floor and he's an awful defensive player.

I would certainly want him back as a low salary situational player ala Gerald Green, but nothing else.

Faried is a 16 pts 9 rebounds per game role player who brings hustle and energy when he's on the court. Yes he's not perfect.

I don't understand why Iman Shumpert who has done nothing to show he's worth his $11million contract has a roster spot while Faried who has performed brilliantly while he was on the court in a Rockets uniform is on the outside looking in.

 

Firstly, point of note: Faried is an 11 and 8 guy.

More importantly: Faried is on the outside of every club, looking in. He was bought out of an $11million contract. Why do you think that is? Why are people splashing money on role players but nobody is offering Faried a dime?

He can't play defence and has a bad attitude. Doesn't even attempt to play defence. Hence his benching.

If Faried is so bad than why did the Rockets pick him up in the first place? Some folks act like you are supposed to be an elite defender like Draymond green at the 4. Who is better than Faried in the pick n roll thats available? All that defensive rating nonsense is a joke. Faried wasn't successful because our defensive strategy was flawed. We couldn't stop Draymond and Steph's pick n roll with the guys that had decent defensive ratings

Faried is a 6'7 centre.
He is so bad defensively he might as well not be there. And worse as a 4

Why did the Rox pick him up? Ever heard the phrase "beggars can't be choosers"? There was no choice. We needed something at the 5 while Capela was hurt.

 

I’m calling bulls”@& here......Faried is a decent defender (watch the games and all his blocked shots) and a very good offensive player. He was averaging 16-10 for a reason when given playing time. He is a major hustler/energy player who had a GREAT attitude (until inexplicably benched for the entire GS series) and gives 100% on the court.
