Spin Move Variations Why: Perfecting this move can help Harden create more space when he adds it to his dribble dancing. Then he could combo the spin with a step back, euro step, floater, lob, or whatever else is in his bag of tricks. Pump Fake Why: Harden already gets to the line at a legendary level. Might as well add the pump fake from other legends that got to the line a ton. Would make Harden on another level of hated. Granted refs already swallow their whistles with Harden on pump fake jump shots so perhaps Harden has to find a way to implement the pump fake that forces the ref to make the right call Fake Step Back or Side Step Why: I'm not sure if it's possible but if Harden can keep his dribble alive after the "zero step" it would be that much harder to guard him. Also must somehow protect the ball as only one hand will be on the ball...Behind the back dribble???
Been saying since the Utah series that I expect him to focus on his right-handed moves. That's the obvious place he knows he could improve in his attack game. Specifically, I'd expect a right-handed floater. The shading defense actually did successfully shut down his floater, because while he'd drive from the right, he'd switch hands during the gather to float it with his left hand. On multiple occasions, you could see that he wasn't getting a clean or well-timed transfer on this, and the shot wasn't falling. Shooting it with his right hand is the obvious solution.
He's gonna pull out that behind the back dribble side step 3 he hit against the Shanghai Sharks last year. It's happening at some point.
Whatever he is working on next, hopefully it's more mental than physical He has some mental weakness. That is the only reason that can explain regular significant playoff no shows and outright giving up like we saw in Game 6 at HOME against a Spurs team without Kawhi and Parker.
I guess it shows how good Harden already is that we now want him to be able to “hit contested threes when tired” at a high percentage. LOL. Next things on to-do list: -Improve passing ability with no hands -Increase offensive rating while sitting on bench -improve teammates’ health -improve shooting percentage while being undercut by defender Actually, that last one may be useful given the recent officiating.
Bring back the mid range/postgame I’ve seen it and I know he has it. Bring it back and get some easy ones.
