Morey used to only draft undersized 4s back in the day.

I always think it’s funny how Morey didn’t draft Draymond.

Well firstly, screw Draymond. But yeah, drafting Morris kills me. Also Royce White.

He can't see the potential in a young player ages 18-20. They need to have 5 years of college ball under their belt or 10 years of euroball for the analytics software to pull the trigger. He's even gotten worse now, inpatient to develop young players

To be fair, it’s not like drafted rookies are likely to get playing time unless desperately necessary

Y'all don't get it. Morey gave Mike a PF. He took him out the playoff rotation lol.

Yeah , its funny …. but not really fair to say when he's attempting to package those picks for players like Butler or Iggy who can come in and help you win right now rather than needing years to develop - if at all.

I know I was pretty pissed about the Knight deal …. now I see why he gave up that pick and picked up the bird rights on a guy he can overpay to use as a trade chip.

Had he not made that deal , no way he could have stayed under the apron had he landed Butler … Knight & that Rookie scale contract would have put them over even after moving EG / Capela , he'd have had to dump both and wouldn't have the pick to do it - May as well turn that into something that you benefit from instead - Shumpert and his bird rights.

After you realize how he lined things up to go after a max free agent and a quality player like Iggy when we had no business being in those conversations due to our cap situation …. it kinda changes your perspective.
Even if he doesn't get either one of them - He set himself up to have the opportunity , I don't see many other GM's stacking the deck like that …. Most of them tank and hope to draft a star or have the advantage of South Beach or LA to lure stars via free agency.

Morey's a big game hunter and damn good at it.

Well in a perfect world that Draymond was supposed to be Royce White. Funny how stuff works out sometimes.
