I feel as if the Harden 30 point streak has been conflated into this idea that that’s how we have always let Harden do things in the past and will continue to do so in the future. We have already seen once Paul came back his usage dropped back to a far more normal rate. No one was saying this, not one peep from any former guys during the 17/18 season when we were steamrolling the league. Same strategy, same style, we just had a generally healthy team with depth so Harden wasn’t forced to have a 40% usage rate. They probably are right. Having a 40+% usage guy during the playoffs probably won’t make for a very easy time winning it all. Might never happen. Who knows. Problem is, that’s not what we are doing. It hasn’t been what we have set out to do.
Good for him, free agency starts way too soon anyway. Can these champions not enjoy their time off before deciding on their future?
