so this would have to be a midseason trade. but that would require risking being over the tax without a guarantee that we can land another star. doesn't seem like tilman's thing.

Why not just pick up Ryno again but this time at vet min?

Similar D issues but can stretch floor and rebound almost as well at a fraction of the cost.

Could definitely see them anywhere from 8-5 honestly. I do think they are still a playoff team if they stay healthy, or at least they can be. I just don't think they can be the #2 seed. That would genuinely shock the hell out of me.

All this for Love, a player on the wrong side of 30 owed multiple years of money? No thanks. If it were for a 28 or under budding star, yes but he has to be a two way player that can shoot the three at 38% or better.

 

Health and defense are really the only concerns. I am actually more worried about defense.

There is a REAL chance he can be healthy enough...... I am not sure how he is going to fit in defensively.

If the Rockets add Love, they MUST add a couple long wings that are well above average defenders.... there are still some available.

On offense Love would be a perfect fit. He is an elite three point shooter, he rebounds very well and moves without the ball, willingly going to the corner and setting screens. He would also play very well with Chris Paul.

A side issue is that you probably will need to baby Love and limit is minutes and games played.... we already do that with Paul (or should)..... so we will need depth.... and when MDA tries to play one of them over 30 minutes, Daryl Morey needs to hit MDA with a cattle prod.

 

They are virtually identical over the last 3 seasons.

 

This is a team that has a 1 year window. Can't keep waiting for another star to turn us down.
