The Rockets will be, but the goal is not top 4.

The Hornets lead the west and were a regular season buzzsaw in 2008 and 2009. He's had as much talent as any player is ever going to get in this league and has nothing to show for it. One and a half decades of nothing.

LAL was messed up after Dr. Buss passed away and they wanted to keep the magic Kobe ride going. Jimmy Buss and West would of never picked up Dwight. They knew better. Dwight sucked and Kobe's hopes of number 6 died that season.

That's basically how other players like Lebron and Westbrook do, and still, guys like George, Davis etc have no problems playing with them. CP3 pretty much knew where he was going to play when he signed here.

    Poor Harden

For me it’s not as much about his iso as it is him being almost completely uninvolved when he’s not massaging the ball.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to see him not on the ball as much but when he’s not he’s got to do something else besides wander around above the three point line.

    Cut, set a screen....something...

the isoball went to the extreme this year. yeah alot of players, especially the ones who also want the ball won't see that as much of an attractive destination

LOOL really? Is that right. That is factually incorrect. David West and Blake Griffin(injured ALOT) is your definition of as much a talent as anyone, please bro, thats just incorrect. You just dont like Chris Paul, you're bias.

Really? Cause no one else wanted Dwight? Cmon now. Regardless, he was a coveted FA and not just by the Lakers. You are trying to rewrite things bro, it aint like that.

Injuries are part of the game, they do not define a team though. Robert Horry was injured pretty bad in the playoffs and still made damn sure to dunk on Oakley and yell each and every chance he got. Yao Ming broke his foot and came back out and sealed a win over a Prime Kobe led Lakers team. Keep pushing the CP3 injury excuses. Let them continue next year when things get worse. The dude is collecting enormous checks until a cushy broadcast spot opens up. His days of caring about the game are over.

He could have easily gotten paid in LA through endorsements.

Neither CP3 and Dwight's first season were in decline. CP3 was a top 3 PG his first season here. Dwight was a top 3 center that year as well and helped us get to the WCF before running into GSW and then Dwight decided he no longer wanted to play the PnR at all. It's easy to try and revise history based on hindsight, but it doesn't make what you are saying true.

No, it's true they were and remain broken, dwindling former stars who the Rockets front office had to overpay because no one else will come here.

Since Patterson was fired by Les, the Rockets have operated this way. Instead of building balanced teams with a focused star, we find wilting talent to put next to our star and penny pinch the rest of the roster. See Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, knees about to explode tmac, Jim Jackson, Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul. I see a pattern here that a few other enlightened Rockets fans see. I see short term teams for quick spurts of playoff magic instead of home grown Rockets that can go the distance like the teams that won two titles

Yes Clyde was declining when we got him, he barely had enough to get us through the West and the finals. Fell off a cliff thereafter.

You are so wrong and it's not even funny. Dwight was an 18/12 player his first season with us. CP3 was an 18/8 player his first season with us. If you want to argue that we get injury prone players, fine... but that's an entirely different argument. When we got them, they were very clearly stars and top players in the NBA.

As for your balanced team with focus star comment, that is even dumber. Our teams have been focused on Harden since we got him and surrounding him with a roll big and 3D wings.

I like Houston, but you have to be more than a homer fan to think think the average young millionaire prefers to live in Houston vs SF, Miami, NYC, LA, so enough of the stars do not want to play with Harden or Morey is stupid bs.

Not everyone likes to play with Lebron, nor Harden.

Just because he choose Westbrook, doesn't mean he will like to play with Lebron.

The same as Kyrie and KD.

You do realize it's much easier to win a title when you're a top 4 team, right?

I mean, the bottom 26 teams almost never win, but all 4 of the top teams have a pretty good shot at it come playoff time.

Dwight's 1st season with rockets... he played better than Harden in the playoffs.

    26 points/ 13.7 rebounds/ 2.8 blocks/ 54.7% shooting.... superstar kind of numbers

Actually the overall playoff performance of Dwight in the Rox is better than Harden in those same seasons.
