Rockets meeting with Looney on Sunday

I think the Rockets might be doing just that. This doesn't feel like a "run it back" type of off season.

Why not entertain the idea of continuing talks to Boston & Kings on Capela despite the Butler fallout? And sell the starting C idea to Looney?

 

why would the kings want capela. they just threw a ton of money at dedmon.

not sure the rockets value looney to the point where they want him as their starting C. and they have to outbid others who are likely interested in him and the rockets have limited money

 

not even sure you can get a quality wing with that kind of money tbh

We don't know if we are using the NT MLE. We gave House 3 years, not 4. That could be indicating that we are using the TP MLE.

If it's the TP MLE we are using, we have around 2.5 - 2.8 mill left to spend, and no BAE.

yeah, when did capela become trash? the rockets were 50-4 when capela/cp3/harden played 2 years ago. the guy is a 17/13 center who blocks shots and doesn't complain about touches (which as dwight showed us, is underrated). catches everything, even the stuff by his knees and can finish with either hand. i don't know what amazing player people think is going to replace him. i understand his kryptonite is gsw, but if you want to make the bet they aren't our primary competition (if klay comes back strong i still think they are very good), then clint works well against so many team. i'm certainly not looking to get rid of him unless we get some sort of perfect-fitting wing who can make 3's and is elite at switching everything on D.

edit: and capela has an incredible contract. he makes half the money middleton and tobias harris do. he makes 80% of the money malcolm brogdon does. he makes less than ricky rubio!

 

dedmon just got 80% of capela's money. i think people underrate how cheap capela is.

 

Looney will be changing teams. So there is a chance.

Normally I would agree but they are hard capped now. I don’t think it’s possible if we give him the rest of the MLE

 

Rockets should also go after Q Cook. That kid can shoot. He only got backup minutes last year but with consistent minutes he could be a steal. Shot over 40% from beyond the arc this year and 44% last year.

 

Inmove him for love n sign McGee. HAVING good stretch 4 will make a impact

team friendly deal. I'd say he's done a nice job so far. Missed out on Butler but hey he wants to be the 'man' and that was never going to happen here.
