LOL I am sure Miami discussed it and then Sixers laughed and said no.

It could be a starting point for a bigger trade, but I think Philly might decline to take him.

Don’t hate on Dragic. He is next Lowry.

You shouldn't be laughing at this. If Miami is willing to part with Dragic, they have a VERY easy pathway to a Butler S&T.

Even if Philly, who has no legit PG (okay they have Simmons but the dude is passing PF) doesn't want Dragic, the Mavs, the Suns, and the Pacers would all likely take him in a heartbeat.

All it takes after they have a taker for Dragic? Simply moving ONE of Winslow, Richardson or Olynyk who are all on positive cheap contracts to the 76ers.

If true, wow. It would mean they knew they weren't keeping Butler this entire time...

Of course the risk part on postponing the new contract was always going to be a big deal, the player has to bet on that, that's why it was never a likely scenario like i said, but by opting in and then sign for 5 years would've brought him the most money in the long run, a max signed next season would be more overall money than a max signed now, and on top of that you still have a year at 20M which is something he's likely not going to get when he'll be 35.

But overall, fair enough, like i said, it's not likely it was what i expect to happen, just something i had some hope it could happen.

Not a huge McGee fan but I guess he’d be okay on the cheap

Not a huge fan of Butler, but I guess he'd be okay willing to come here on a Max.

If he goes to Miami that would be epic for Houston. Another team comes out of nowhere to take your prize but honestly our team right now still is a contender

If he chooses a retired wade over harden in his prime, we are doomed.

Not JUST a retired Wade..... he'd be choosing a Miami team that will also most likely be without Josh Richardson and Goran Dragic.

I’m sure the Sixers are clamoring for a 19 million dollar backup.

I remember when ScoopB kept saying Melo to Houston was a done deal and then the Thunder got him....
