Mcgee is a perfect fit in my book. Vertical spacing. Assuming we give him the full MLE, do you think he'll be half as productive as Capela? I do, especially in the playoffs. Mcgee is a poor man's Deandre Jordan. We don't post up our bigs, so having an offensive minded center is not a priority. Mcgee can catch lobs just as well a Capela. People on here are complaining, but we don't even know what price we could get him for. Anything less than 9 million would be a steal.

If we’re not getting Butler...not sure why the Rockets would trade their 3rd best player (youngest out of our top 3) and try to replace him with Looney or McGee. SMH

Only at minimum, back up insurance in case Hartenstein fails. This guy can at least dunk and block, I remember we seriously struggled against him on the Warriors and Lakers.

Well.... they COULD get something of value for Capela right? Some kind of 'big wing'?
Then replace most of Capela's production with a low value contract.

Either that, or this is Morey making McGee feel valuable so Lebron can't have him for the min.

I thought about that too, but Nene barely played.

These guys are either possible Clint replacements or the rockets are going to play a true big more often.

Based on what we've heard I'd guess these guys are more likely to replace Clint and a guy like Hartenstein take Nene's minutes.

Javale shouldn't be offered the 9.2 M MLE initially.

I would like to add Aminu or Jamychael Green for 9.2 M. Possibly Rodney Hood too. I don't know if anyone would be available with the 2.2 M BAE, but I would offer it to Jeff Green.

McGee with the BAE or Looney with the MLE.

After that -36 per to the Warriors, I'm ready to move on. And so is Morey.

    sell high.

centers are the least valued position in our system. same for warriors FWIW.

doesn't make sense to have one being paid more than the MLE. spend that money on more 'skilled' positions like a combo forward or guard. if we can get smart/pick for capela I'd do that with or without a butler trade. without a butler trade I'd use the NTMLE on a combo forward like JaMychal and the BAE on a center like McGee. with butler we'd still have our TMLE which I'd spend on a center like looney.

McGee with the BAE. Looney with the MLE only makes sense, if Capela can be traded for a solid SF. I'm not taking about Butler here, since he seems to be out of Houston's reach.

Capela is being traded for a first rounder only unfortunately.

    That's certainly possible.
