I’m not much of a hitting coach but it’s pretty obvious Bregman has stopped getting on top of the ball and is swinging with launch angle in mind, those hard hit line drive doubles have left his bat long ago
But he wouldn’t be considered wild until after the walks to Brantley and Yuli. He was definitely squeezed that inning. This board would be in uproar if those calls were made on Verlander.

Wonder what is up with JV. His worst year HR wise was 2016 when he gave up 30 in 227 innings. So far this year he is on pace to give up 42. That is what a whopping 40% increase over his worst and 50% more than last year.

I love JV and I still believe he'll be great for at least a few more years, but, this is just NOT his night. Thankfully Kikuchi is sucking too, but we'll need a lot more runs.
