That's simply his role in our offense. With us running a ISO PnR heavy offense, Capela doesn't get much chance to showcase his Eurostep or light touch around the rim.

He’s a good young guy but I always felt that he was soft, even before this playoffs debacle. I never thought he was worth $90+ million dollars. His free throw percentage was getting better but as soon as he realized he was out of reach of his bonus, his percentages plummeted like a rock. That showed me a lot about his mentality.

where do people come up with this stuff. so i guess when he went 8-10 against phx at the end of the year his mentality was giving up at that point in time. why didn't he just go 0-10 then. cf's logic

after the first game of the GS series he was godawful from the line. the only reason i can come up with is that the pressure got to him

i can't wait to see how he does in another offense. without harden and paul spoonfeeding him point blank layups

of course the playoffs got him. that was pretty clear. he set himself up for that by his comments. love the confidence but if he's going to back it up like that, just ouch.

but the topic i was referencing in the op, dealt with the regular season

i'm not happy about losing our depth in a s&t as well. but i really do doubt capela will be taking shots past 4ft anytime soon, just based on having watched him shoot 10ft J's in warmups all last season.

Look at Brook Lopez. He went from shooting no 3s to shooting them at a 15% rate to shooting them at a 35% rate for three straight seasons. Clint has that kind of work ethic. NO ONE works harder than Clint at getting better.

Good news for Capela is that even middle school PG's know how to run a PnR set and if the Celtics get Walker, freebie layups should continue though not as often.

@Codman Any chance at all that Butler shocks us and opts in?

but lopez has been a real bball player with stanford fundamentals :D

clint's biggest issue is that he lacks basic bball skills. i'm telling you, his shot is not even close. i mean that push shot that steven adams has in the paint, i'm not entirely sure clint will ever be able to make even those

kemba's a great scorer, but not nearly the playmaker paul/harden are. those guys have elite court vision, passing accuracy, and bball IQ that kemba will never possess

Real problem is no one wants to play with Darryl Morey.

He may not be as good a playmaker as Harden or CP3, but he still knows how to run a PnR.

I am pretty sure Kemba is at least decent at making plays.

I dun see them as title contenders either way unless Tatum and Jaylen Brown become serious stars.

Even if you just look at the regular season, his FT shooting did not improve very much from last season. Last year was the biggest improvement and we were excited about the potential. But after this season, I realized that he was probably near his ceiling in terms of improving his shooting. He still has not developed any form of a jump shot after 5 seasons as a pro. Some players just don't have the shooting touch.

i think hes very capable of being a 70% free throw shooter. that's very good for a center like him and hes right there. he improved significantly this year.
