morey has always had a weird obsession with star players too. One of his few flaws

Anytime an owner gets involved with trades and personnel decisions, things usually turn out bad.

Tillman needs to let Morey and his staff work. Stay out of it.

So I was fairly spot on earlier today with my Tilman "quote":

If you're moving Tucker and really aiming for the fences, you better be getting Butler and Horford is my guess.

The ONLY way this makes any sense is for this to either be posturing on the Rockets part to get Philly to play ball, or we have something in the works with both Butler and Horford/Love. I see no other way this makes any kind of sense. But.....In Morey We Trust. Even if Tilman is being a buffoon and forcing Morey's hand, I still have faith that he will navigate the situation and find the best path forward.

    This.

Maybe, Jaylen Brown or Marcus Smart?

But I'm confident that Morey has a plan if he has to move all 3 (Capela, Gordon and Tucker).

The only way Tucker gets involved in a trade is if we are getting Butler and another plus player. That's the only way it makes any sense. It's also the only way Morey makes a move like that.

If they let IRV ROLAND AND PJ TUCKER go in the same offseason, they better have a slick plan to win Harden and CP3 over with these moves.

If he opts out , it only takes one of Capela or EG and Nene because of the BYC which states his (Butler) outgoing trade value is last years salary or 50% of his current salary , whichever is greater.

In the case of opt out sign and trade , the Rockets are hard capped at 139m and would be far too close to that to fill out the roster which is why both Capela and EG would be required to go out , leaving them enough money to fill out the roster.

If he opts in the numbers are the same , matching $19.xM that is the final year of Butlers current deal which takes one of Capela / EG and Nene but doesn't come with the hard cap issue.

The hard cap is the reason both are in the conversation.

I want Jimmy just opt in and delay the payday like cp3 did. But I can understand why he is not doing that. Looking at what happened to KD and Klay has to have alot of players shook about injury ruining there potential free agency.

This is a sign and trade scenario. But if done before Sunday this could also bring us back other expiring salary that would be very useful in next deal.

He's giving up NOTHING long term and actually will make more over the next 5 years if he opts in now.

This should be the one and only thread out there for this Jimmy B thing. The O.G. thread!

So we could’ve had Butler during the season for EG and tuck and picks for Butler with his bird rights but waffled. But now we’re willing to give up Cap, EG, and Tuck? That’s craziness.

There was no waffling. Minnesota never had any intention of doing a deal with us. Tucker was never a sticking point to the deal getting done.

Nook confirmed this and it is what they stated publicly. They did now want to create another super-team in the Western Conference. We offered everything. It didn’t matter.
