Money won't work. Butler and Covington adds 46 million while EG and Capela combine for around 32 million.

We need more we love Jimmy threads here. He ain't coming unless we show love and he holds 76ers hostage. Only Tomballer can make it happen. C'Mon Jimmeh #21.

This is something Daryl Morey and Chris Paul need to communicate effectively. If Jimmy Butler opts-in this year....

    1. He receives guaranteed max contract even if injured like Paul.
    $201,840,000, (5-year max in 2020)
    + $19,841,627 (2019 opt-in salary)
    = $221,681,627 over 6-years vs. 189,660,000 over 5-years right now.
$32,021,627 difference -- the maximum starting salary he can make in 2019.
Therefore, he makes more money over 6 years especially in the last year of his contract at age 36.

    2. It allow the Rockets to only have to trade Gordon and Nene directly to the Sixers to match his salary, thereby keeping Capela as a crucial piece and having flexibility going forward for another possibly trade.

This is going to be better than acquiring Carmelo Anthony

Philly doesn't need Clint and JB wants apparently wants the max.
Which third team needs Clint badly and has good assets for Philly?

Yeah, it seems like another OKC type team might snap him up.

I think the Blazers could acquire him, by offering CJM plus an S/T with Aminu and other assets. Bazemore is now with them too.

Sacramento? Maybe they send Philly Bogdonavich? Boston? I’m just thinking off the top of my head.

This is not true at all, he has great hands and instincts to make himself available and on defense.

He also has a great motor which Mcgee and Whiteside don't have not his BBall iq.

Did we not learn anything from the Chris's debacle?

i don't mind trading Capela but he is not easily replaced.

Hope Gerrson comes through with an assist on a three-way trade.

but really, there are only a certain amount of teams with the cap space and willingness to max out Butler for 4 years ...and there are a lot of top tier free agents. His market is much smaller than you are indicating. So maybe there's 3 or 4 teams out there, but they are probably dumpster fire teams that won't be competitive for a while, and do you really think a competitor like Butler would chose one of those teams over resigning with Philly? If i'm Philly, i'm calling his bluff. He'll end up in Philly.

This can't be said enough on this board.

Clutchfans haters, whiners, crybabies have been trashing Morey all season. Yet, here we are fully over-the-cap and still looking to make another salary cap manipulation move because Morey's word is worth something in this league.

Morey stood by Chris Paul with the max extension even when losers on this board wanted him released after the devastating hamstring injury.

That just goes to show how your word is everything.

As for Clutchfans haters, whiners, and crybabies, their word is worth sh*t.

Would you take this trade if 76ers really want 2 Firsts?

Gordon/Shumpert 13 million and 2 Firsts for Butler?

    Yeah I agree.

We all know the Rockets were very close to winning it all two years ago. Just didn’t happen. Team was good last year, but not good enough.

Point is, I love EGo and CC, but if you can land JB by parting with these two guys you do it. It’s time to shake things up.

For our system he’s replaceable, plus what’s the point of holding onto somebody that disappears during crunch time. Jordan would be the most ideal replacement who closely resembles what capela does for us. Jordan wanted to come here bad.
