James himself wouldn’t even be party to it. Maybe best just to let it go.

Embarrassingly tone deaf. Young guy wins, no point in taking anything away from him. Congratulate and move on. It is also so clearly and needlessly counterproductive, anyone could guess how this will play out online. This was a Trumpian tweet. I struggle to see the benefits of the Rockets building a reputation as the aholes of the NBA.

How was this an ******* thing to do? Is this not an ultra competitive professional sport?

The rockets are clearly the villains of the league, embrace it. Some of y’all need to toughen up.

I don't have any problem with it, although I would have kept it simple and not bother trying to make any sort of cases. Nothing wrong with saying, "Congrats but we still like our guy better." Besides, neither guy won the championship this year, so really they're both losers.

No, it’s being a sore ****ing loser. When some other kid beats your kid you don’t start campaigning. Snubs are common everywhere.

Makes the rockets , and harden unfortunately —look insecure

Giannis not necessarily way more popular, it is just Harden is so hated.

Giannis got a lot of "anyone but Harden" votes.

Both Goodwill and Rusillo are blatant and admitted Harden haters. There are many more voters who feel as strongly but not as obvious.

I like Morey generally, last summer notwuthstanding, but the IT nerd can be a little tone deaf and hermetically sealed.

Ultra competitive, yes. But a competition is decided when there is a winner. And the winner was Giannis.

It'd be like if the Warriors twitter tweeted "Congrats to the Raptors, but y'all wouldn't have won if our roster was healthy. (Insert KD's playoff statline, Klay's playoff statline)"

That's essentially what the Rockets tweet was.

If the tweet was sent out yesterday morning instead of after Giannis won, no one would bat an eye.

^If only this statement was true. You know it would still be a debate.

Yawn. You agree with anything that makes the rockets look bad.

It makes the Rockets look like they support and stand up for their players from my perspective. I wouldn’t have posted that from the official Twitter but Harden should be the real MVP.

I disagree with the bolded, this competition was decided by media voting. This was a shot back at the media. Embrace being the villain that the media made us.

Overreacting. individual award in team sports doesn't mean much unless it is final MVP.

We talk way too much smack .

I know Morey and them probably see it as "supporting our own players"

But , when you do it this much it just gets tiring .

Harden doesn't need the rockets to pump him up to this extent . He doesn't talk that much trash . He may make 1 or 2 comments a year .... but you don't see him saying anything questioning the results of the award .... he's confident enough in his game that he doesn't need to .

Why the rockets do the same ?

Were the spurs campaigning for Duncan mvps ? Cleveland or Miami for lebron ? Warriors ?

dont even get me started on when we talk trash ... (not players) DM is way too active on twitter for my taste. Tilman looks like he likes to talk too .

It'd come off as weak to me if they didn't say it.
