Man i hope jimmy butler comes here and shows how it is done. Take a paycut to win a ring in your home town. Everytime I think of our players and how they chose their greed over a chance to build a team that can win a ring it makes me wonder if we will ever win anything. Chris paul 120 mil in 4 years. James harden's insane contract. Clint capella 80 to 90 mil. If chris and james took 10 mil off their contract a year we might have been in good shape by now.

Wilson Chandler has a big problem with making shots in the playoffs

    His playoff shooting
    28 / 14
    36 / 31
    31/ 10

Career 42% TS in 15 games

Would you take a pay cut at your job? Didn’t think so.

He's likely to demand more, considering his last contract was over 7 mill and his skill set has only become more valuable today.

I think we end up with DMC. Unless we could get Ariza back on our BAE or something.

The formula for the Rockets has been playmakers, 3&D wings and bigs, so it’s best to look at roster construction that way.

    At the present, we have:

    Playmakers: Harden, CP3 & Gordon
    3&D wings: Tucker
    Bigs: Capela

If no trades are made, than the obvious need is 3&D wings. Here are some potential options:

    Marcus Morris
    Wilson Chandler
    Rudy Gay
    Jeff Green

I’d love to get Aminu, but I think he will be out of our price range.

First off I’d go after Jimmy Butler 100%. If you get him to commit under his player option, you trade gordon along with nene for him. Next you move capela to the clippers in a sign & trade deal to acquire bev & jam green on some 3 yr $24m or 2 yr $16m deals (maybe more for Green), but add the trade exceptions to match $$$. Use the full MLE to get DJ or Boogie and use the Tax MLE to attract another key rotation piece. Fill other holes with vets on a cheap deals that’ll actually contribute. Lastly fill out the roster with decent replacements for insurance.

    Cp3/Bev/Lin
    Harden/???/G.Green
    Butler/Tucker/Clark
    J.Green/???/Dudley
    DJ or Boogie/???/Harnestein

Taking Green back via S&T would hard cap the Rockets, and your proposed team would likely take team salary above that apron level. Also, teams don’t get both the “full” (Non-Taxpayer) AND the Taxpayer MLE. They have to pick one.

Yah but what if we trade for butler then use the full mle on Jordan

    Wouldn’t that be worth it?

Trade WHAT for Butler AT WHAT SALARY?

Sign Jordan with WHICH “full” MLE?

Depending on these answers, they may not have enough room below a hard cap to do that!

Has anyone said Trevor Ariza for the vet min yet? Can’t see anyone wanting to pay him after the year he just had.

That was a question I had as well, can a team have both Full NTE and then moves into MLE.

Question BimaThug: not sure you feel comfortable answering it or allowed to answer: Do you sense Butler is using the Rockets as leverage on the 76ers for the Max $? My understanding is the 76ers aren’t hinting at anything else but
    offering Mr. Jimmy the Max.

It’s not like Iggy using us to drive the Warriors offer higher last summer or the season before.

I wait for your reply and understand if you can’t comment.
