My anonymous source told me that he informed Morey that either Harden goes, or he goes.

But really, I'll always take a flier on a young 7'1" player. To quote Kinky Friedman (who was not my source) "why the hell not?"

    Typical CF.

Rockets sign an undrafted rookie and expectations are for him to be better than our current starting center. If not, he's clearly a bust.

    Yes it is.

Unless it's above the rim, Capela is constantly fumbling the bounce passes given to him by CP and Harden.

He's also extremely stiff in his movement. I'm not saying this kid will be better but he does hold advantages in both those categories atm.

    Still respectfully disagree.

Capela has great hands and generally a soft touch around the rim. You are making him sound like he is in the level of someone like Asik. The times he fumbles passes are if they are either too low (something CP3 seems to do more often than Harden) or that his opponent is being physical. The latter is one of Clint's biggest problems; he has issues when defenders are physical with him, such as Draymond.

Overall, I would say his hands are one of his biggest strengths, and if he ever learns how to deal with the increased physicality and intensity of the playoffs, they'll be even more in display.

I think his performance during the playoffs against GSW might be creating a recency bias.

Couple years in the weight room, could be a decent backup to Clint.
Amazing all the hate for CC after his playoff slump. Which was pathetic, granted. BUT CC has improved every year; how often can you say that?

Runs pretty good , really long , pretty good hands , showed some good footwork , has a decent jump hook …. not a very explosive jumper.

I didn't see him box out once in that highlight video …. just relied upon his size to get above people.

10 years ago he'd have been a lottery pick …. my how the game has changed.

I may have agreed with you before his injury but after he came. Back he couldn’t catch anything....he kept fumbling the ball. I couldn’t believe it like overnight something change.

I like this guy. If he shows out in the summer league, he might make the squad for the season. Why? Because we don't have any money and it looks like we will be signing really cheap deals for the bench this year.

His height is being understated at 7'1, he should really be listed at 7'2.

He's 7'1.25 WITHOUT shoes, making him the same exact height as Zhou Qi.

Why did we take this guy instead of Tacko?
