Ordinary tactics will not get the Rockets out of their bind. Ideas?

One proposal is continual tryouts. Enough guessing. Survival of the fittest. Think of Gerald Green; do not think of Carter Williams. Announce that the Vipers will always have two of the Rocket starters on assignment from the Rockets. If you want to play with James Chris etc. or even just hang out with them a bit be a Viper. Only the most promising will get the chance to be a Viper. D-League Championship for the Vipers. Lottery probably for the Rockets.

Attendance will be way up at Vipers games. Raise ticket and concession prices. At Rockets games lower ticket and concession prices to attempt to maintain attendance. Lots of special offers if for instance Harden has the first 80 point triple double, even if with the Vipers, or Clint makes two three pointers or has ten points on midrange jump shots or Nene have a breakaway dunk wo a groin pull.

Every 10 days two worthy Vipers will get a ten day contract with the Rockets and play 20 mpg for ten days to see if they can cut it. Vipers sent up will be at worst be reassigned to the Vipers and treated like any other Viper.

Any NBA vet without a contract can join the queue to have a ten day try contract with the Rockets subject to availability of only five spots allotted to such vets at any one time. The lucky contract free vets selected will get starter minutes for their ten day contract. Hey, only playing an NBA game will keep you in NBA shape. Gain exposure.

    Trust the process.
