Seems like a good teammate in his 2018 exit interview: https://www.nba.com/grizzlies/video/gcm-exit-interview-ben-mclemore-180412
He's actually better than Gerald. Stays under control. Better shot selection. And while not a great defender he is an upgrade to gerald on that end. Plays the passing lanes well. And doesn't take as many bad gambles defensively as Gerald. There is nothing wrong with bringing him in on a minimum deal. Nothing wrong at all. He'll shoot over 40% from 3 in our system. Everybody should be hyped.
You could tell me a little age and maturity was all that was needed to get this kid back on the court. Talent was never the question.
If he looks good in workouts I do not mind offering him the vet minimum. I used to sort of like him with the kings. Good that they are looking to such players, it is not like we have a lot of capspace.
Have always enjoyed watching him play. Unfortunately a year or so playing with Harden and the combination of being in Mike’s system - he will eventually be a 1 year rental
Ben can be better than Bobby Brown. I don't know if he can surpass House but he might be able to do that.
